Brand voice
Tone, style, audience and custom instructions that shape every generation.
One voice, every channel
The Brand voice section shapes every generation in the workspace. Three quick fields set the base:
- Tone: confident, friendly, formal and more.
- Style: concise, storytelling, punchy and more.
- Audience: customers, developers, players, whoever you write for.
Shipnote then writes each channel natively within that voice: the Discord post and the press release will sound like the same company, at very different lengths.
The custom prompt
The custom prompt is plain instructions, one per line, followed on every channel:
- "Always write in British English."
- "Never mention databases or APIs. Describe the benefit."
- "Finish with our tagline."
It's the highest-leverage field in the product, worth two minutes of thought. Your instructions are treated as writing guidance only; they can't change what Shipnote is or does.
The footer
Generated announcements end with a small attribution footer. On the Max and Studio plans you can customise it or clear it entirely; Pro keeps the default.
Voice vs. per-output edits
Brand voice is the default; the assistant is the exception. If one particular thread should be more excited than usual, use the rewrite bar on that output rather than changing the voice. Change Brand voice when you'd want every future release to sound different.
